Simon, in private practice since 1987, assumed the roles of shareholder and director at FordBaker Valuation Limited in 1995. Currently serving as the Chairman of the Canterbury/Westland branches for both the Property Institute of New Zealand (PINZ) and the New Zealand Institute of Valuers (NZIV), where he holds Fellow status, Simon also serves as a Director of FordBaker Valuation Limited. His expertise lies in commercial and industrial property, block land for subdivision, compensation assessments, rental valuations, dispute resolution, and acting as an expert witness. Simon also engages in insurance assessments, including pre-loss market indemnity valuations, and provides feasibility and consultancy advice. Outside his professional commitments, Simon indulges his passion for sports and activities, enjoying mountain biking on the Port Hills and remote parts of the South Island, playing touch rugby, skiing with friends and family, and participating in 'Fat Boys Christchurch,' a group of like-minded middle-aged sporting enthusiasts.
